WHY SOMATIC (BODY) WORK?
bringing awareness to the body
The term somatic relates specifically to the body. But why is it important to cultivate deeper awareness of our bodily sensations and engage in somatic practices? The answer lies in a neurobiological concept known as interoception—our ability to sense, interpret, and understand internal bodily sensations.

When you intentionally cultivate awareness of your body's sensations, you gain the ability to soothe your nervous system, enhance organ function, and significantly improve emotional regulation. Regular somatic practice enables you to proactively calm anxiety, panic, or anger (the “fight or flight” response), or effectively lift yourself out of feelings of shutdown, depression, helplessness, and apathy (the “freeze” or "collapse" response).

Why Somatic (Body) Work?
Our approach provides practical resources that empower you to remain stable and grounded in your body, promoting sustained parasympathetic nervous system activation (the "rest, digest, and heal" state). By engaging in somatic work, you restore balance to your nervous system, enabling recovery from chronic stress and promoting overall resilience and wellness.
